Introduction to Bloons Tower Defense 5 (BTD 5)
Bloons Tower Defense 5, also called BTD 5, puts you in charge of a monkey crew that stops waves of balloons on winding tracks. You place towers along the path and manage income as you cover key angles before the next round hits. Early waves bring simple reds and blues. Later you face camouflaged bloons that many towers cannot see, lead shells that shrug off darts, dense ceramics that split on hit, and giant blimps that soak up fire. The pace climbs fast, so smart placement and steady upgrades matter more than raw spam.
The roster stays varied and each tower fills a clear role. Dart Monkeys offer cheap range while Tack Shooters lock down corners. Snipers hit anywhere on the map and Ninja Monkeys can strike camo by default. Bomb Shooters crack leads and disrupt groups, and Ice Tower and Glue Gunner slow crowds so other towers land hits. Monkey Apprentice adds lightning and fire, and Monkey Buccaneer controls water lanes. Monkey Village boosts nearby towers and grants camo detection, while Banana Farms fund your plan when rounds get long. Every tower uses two upgrade paths. You can push one path to tier four and take only two tiers on the other, which forces a choice between damage, utility, or support. Several tier fours add an activated ability that can swing a tough round when timed well.
BTD 5 offers a pile of modes and tracks that change how you plan. Maps range from beginner to expert and many add water or split lanes that test coverage. You rank up to unlock towers and upgrades, then chase harder rules like Reverse, Impoppable, and Apocalypse. Daily challenges and special missions set fixed loadouts or quirky goals that push you to mix builds. Cooperative play lets two players share a defense and send cash when needed. You earn monkey money from wins and spend it on special agents, road spikes, and other handy items, which opens new tactics without breaking balance.
